How to Find and Obtain Business Credits When Seeking Recertification
Are you in need of recertification credit hours? In particular, are you seeking easy ways to obtain the much-coveted business credits that are required to maintain your Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) or Senior Professional in Human Resources - International™ (SPHRi™) credential(s) from HR Certification Institute?
All SPHR® and SPHRi™ credential holders are required to get 15 business credit hours out of the total 60 credits required to recertify every three years. To earn business credits, you must take part in programs that enhance your knowledge of business operations and the industry in which you work.
We’d like to offer a short step-by-step tutorial for finding these opportunities.
First, please take time to read our guide, Business Credits, All You Need to Know. This guide offers insight into how you can earn business credits while on the job. It stresses the importance of being involved in projects that require you to be part of a cross-functional team and work with other business leaders.
Next, familiarize yourself with our searchable database of pre-approved recertification activities. This database features continuing education opportunities that include training or coursework on business topics.
Here are the steps for finding business credits through the searchable database:
-On the menu on the left side, find the list of Credit Types. This list should include HR (General), California, Global and Business.
-Click on “Business.” This should give you a list of all possible opportunities for business credits.
-Use the menu on the left side to refine your results by activity type, provider, geographic location and the number of credit hours you are seeking. You can also refine your search by start and end date to help you find opportunities happening now or in the near future.
When it’s time to apply for recertification, you can do so here.
We hope you have success in finding business credit opportunities. HRCI is determined to help you obtain the credits needed to get recertified. If you have any questions or concerns, please email email@example.com.
