PHRca Certification Overview
Designed for professionals who support or manage HR in California, the PHRca validates your expertise in state-specific HR laws, regulations, and practices.
Exam Time: 2 hours and 15 minutes (plus 30 minutes administration time)
Exam Length: 90 scored questions (mostly multiple-choice) + 25 pretest questions
Computer-based exam at a Pearson VUE testing center or at your home or office using OnVUE
Exam Fee*: $395.00 + Application Fee: $100.00
* Once an exam application is approved, no refunds will be made whether a candidate withdraws or no longer wishes to take the exam.
Recertification
Your PHRca certification is valid for three years. To maintain your PHRca credential, you must earn 45 HR and 15 California recertification credits (60 total) over a three-year time span or retake the exam.
