May is always a busy month. It seems like the whole world is gearing up for summer, getting ready for graduation parties, family get-togethers, long weekends and the like. But more than that, these 31 days offer the opportunity to recognize and reflect on a number of important topics. That’s because May has been designated Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month; Jewish American Heritage Month; Mental Health Awareness Month; and Military Appreciation Month.
In addition to these month-long acknowledgments, the May calendar includes U.S. National Teachers’ Day (May 2); National Nurses Week (May 6-12); Military Spouse Appreciation Day (May 12); International HR Day (May 20) and more. Chances are, you know at least one person to recognize this month, and with that in mind, I’d like to encourage all of us to consider the experiences of these folks, especially in the workplace. As such, I’d like to highlight a few offerings specific to the military and military spouses:
HRCI Certification for Military HR Personnel, which includes a $100 application fee waiver for all service members, veterans and military spouses.

Having and providing access to tools and resources is just one way to show support in May and throughout the year. It gives us the opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion and each other. I would love to hear other ideas from our community, please feel free to connect and share with me on Twitter or LinkedIn.
Keep on Learning,
