Making Learning Part of Your Daily Routine

HRCI-certified Michell Daidone, PHR, director of human resources at KAR Global, recently completed courses towards her recertification using the newly revamped HRCI Learning Center.

In her role as an HR leader, Daidone is responsible for day-to-day HR matters that involve legal approaches to best practices, ethics and international and employee relations.

Additionally, Daidone investigates and documents related processes. She is becoming an expert on legal matters in the workplace, such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and gender issues.

In June, 2021, she completed her recertification cycle, and was very pleased with information she gained from the Globalization of Ethics course. For instance, while pursuing her HRCI recertification, she typically attends webinars, seminars and thoroughly enjoys the Alchemizing webinar series that offers a global perspective on HR practices and policies.

“Globalization and Ethics was extremely beneficial for me as an HR Professional employed by a global company. It gave me deeper insight into my moral and ethical responsibility to my employer,” says Daidone.

She learned how to deploy technology to facilitate business expansion into a global economy. Her global organization employs over 10,000 employees in 14 countries. Daidone is constantly seeking opportunities to advance her global knowledge and skills, as well as avoiding the pitfalls of inequalities, working conditions and environmental impact that affects the global workforce.

Her role as an HR leader involves legal approaches to best practices, ethics and international and employee relations. Daidone is also involved in investigations and documentation processes. She is becoming an expert on legal matters in the workplace, such as diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) and gender issues.

She applauds the variety of HRCI’s learning catalog with over 250+ courses offered. As a continuous learner, Daidone would like to see HRCI expand and offer additional courses on recent HR topics such as employee relations, DE&I, LGBTQA+ equity and transgender rights, robotics and artificial intelligence.

Daidone’s interest in these topics are part of her daily engagements: “As a trainer, and responsible for a biweekly newsletter, I strive to stay current with issues and share this information regularly with executives and staff.”

During the pandemic, KAR Global encouraged and paid for their employees to make professional certification their priority. “It is important to devote time to professional learning and growth. I am a perpetual learner and never above making time for educational growth, says Daidone.”

Her future plans include adding the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) certification to her portfolio. We can all take inspiration from Daidone for her dedication and passion to grow her HR career and knowledge.
