Michael Trust has been in the HR field for over three decades, in the public, private, and non-profit sectors in such industries as local government, legal, real estate, higher education, healthcare, consulting, and renewable energy. He is experienced leading HR programs in California and across multiple states. Michael’s experience is in complex employee relations (union and non-union), complex disability management/reasonable accommodations, talent from the C-Suite to entry-level, culture, compensation, benefits, learning and development, compliance, payroll, HRIS, and general business and clinical operations. Michael has supported employee populations from 130 to 28,000.
Michael holds three HR certifications: SPHR, PHRca, and SHRM-SCP. Additionally, Michael is a California Certified Mediator under the CA Dispute Resolution Act of 1986. Michael holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, and a baccalaureate degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge. Michael is currently pursuing his Juris Doctorate, part-time, while continuing in his career.
Michael is passionate about the PHRca certification in particular, believing that more CA based practitioners (or those with CA employees) should obtain it, given CA’s myriad of labor regulations that are unsurpassed in the United States.
