Continuing with my thoughts on performance management and employee well-being, I would like to take a moment to focus on employee engagement and recognition in 2022. Organizational leadership and HR should join forces and commit to the creation of a positive work culture.
This partnership is critical in light of the widespread disruptions that have forced organizations to rethink their employee engagement, recruitment, retention, recognition and reward strategies over the past several years.
Given today’s trends towards a more hybrid workforce, employees should feel valued through organizational driven initiatives such as flexible work hours combined with well-being and mental health initiatives. This strategy can be accomplished while maintaining business processes and agile technology to accommodate such flexibility. Employees should be included as much as possible in determining recognition initiatives. This in turn will empower employees to feel trusted and valued.
Organizations must determine and adopt new strategies handling employee relations. One of the first areas should be to reinforce and maintain an engaged workforce. This will result in a successful and well-adjusted recognition-driven culture.
Keep on Learning!
