Make Onboarding a Positive First Experience
Most companies forget that
recruiting a new hire doesn’t stop at his or her start date. New hires are
constantly thinking, “Did I make the right choice?” That’s why it’s critical to
invest in effective onboarding — something that isn’t just a week-long orientation,
but more like a 12-month intentional process that helps an employee get
comfortable with the team, and start developing in their role. It’s also just
as important to have someone from HR provide a human touch when the person is
hired by reaching out to ensure things go smoothly, and serve as a friendly
resource.
