Iona Harding, GPHR, SPHR


Iona Harding is a senior human resource and business leader, consultant and educator. Her consulting firm, Harding Resources LLC, helps organizations develop, implement and measure people strategies that drive organization success and that “make the workplace life

Harding Resources works primarily with non-profits and small to mid-sized organizations in the for-profit and public space. Iona is a certified Human Resource professional holding both the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®) Certifications from HRCI. She is also certified by SixSeconds in emotional intelligence assessment and coaching.

Iona is an adjunct instructor in the MBA program at St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ, where she teaches Leadership and Human Resource Management. She also teaches Human Resource Analytics at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA and has taught the same internationally in MBA, EMBA and HR Masters programs in Bangkok, Thailand and Singapore. Iona has facilitated programs at various colleges and universities in New Jersey on International Business, business planning and supervisory skills. She recently started the HRCI Certification Preparation program at The College of New Jersey where she is both program manager and an instructor.

Prior to starting her own consulting firm, Iona worked in the telecommunications industry for over 20 years. She was the Human Resource Vice President for Lucent Technologies’ global mobility business, with responsibility for overall human resource management, leadership development and organization effectiveness for North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. She also served as the interim HR Vice President for Lucent China. Prior to moving into Human Resources, Iona held management positions in finance, information systems and marketing in the telecommunications and computer industries.

Iona holds Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Business Education from The College of New Jersey. She is a former Board Director for HRCI where she served for six years. Iona and her husband Maurice live in Princeton, NJ.
