Clinton R. Gurney, CPA, is a capable and experienced general manager with specific expertise in all aspects of finance and human resource management. Clint most recently managed 800 employees in multiple locations across seven time zones as an expat in the South Pacific for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For most of Clint’s career, he has been in positions with significant international responsibilities. In his 13 years with Eli Lilly, he was controller Latin America, controller Southeast Asia, financial coordinator Europe and treasurer United Kingdom. With the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in various capacities as treasurer, financial controller and worldwide managing director of finance. Clint’s career took an interesting turn in 1999 when he was asked to move from finance to become the managing director of HR for the Church, where he worked for six years. During this period, Clint served on the SHRM Board of Directors as director at large, treasurer and Audit Committee chair. He has lived and worked in England, Australia, New Zealand and Germany, and has traveled extensively on every continent in his professional capacity.
In addition, he has contributed successfully to many organizational boards and committees in the public and private sectors. Many of these assignments have included significant responsibilities managing large institutional and private investment portfolios, banking, budgeting, financial controls and auditing.Clint received an MBA from the University of Michigan and a BA in accounting from the University of Utah. He is a licensed CPA in the state of Utah.Clint and his wife, Allyson, have six children and ten grandchildren. Clint enjoys golf, skiing, trekking, college football, genealogy, family, Church and volunteer service.
