HRCI - New Identity Verification Process -About Us: Privacy and Confidentiality

In an effort to deal with identity theft issues, starting this year when an individual contacts the HR Certification Institute via phone, our customer service representatives will ask for a Date of Birth before giving out any information to that individual over the phone. This is to ensure that the person on the other end is actually the owner of the record. We feel that verifying name or mailing address is not sufficient, as this basic information can easily be obtained from mailboxes or search engines.

One item that we would like to point out is how the HR Certification Institute stores our certificant's data. Our online services are hosted by Cyzap, one of the industry's leaders in certification management system. They use a combination of state of the art hardware and software to protect our data from any breaches or potential attacks. In addition, unlike other web pages, your update profile page is a secure page, meaning that a login is required. Search engines will not be able to index information on this page. Our privacy policy will also guarantee that your Date of Birth can only be accessed by you and our internal staff. The HR Certification Institute will never publish or share this information with a third party.

We hope that our certificants will feel more comfortable knowing that the HR Certification Institute will not be sharing your personal information and that our new identity verification process is being implemented to safeguard your data with us.
