Online Chats with Recertification Counselor

Do you have questions about how to record your recertification activities? Are you wondering if an activity counts toward recertification credit? We conduct periodic chats that give certified HR professionals an opportunity to ask our staff members specific questions about their recertification exams.

Sample Questions

Dallas, TX: I am in the process of updating our employee handbook (paper) and transferring the new handbook to our online HR software. Will this count toward on the job training?
Virtual Recertification Counselor: On the Job credit is awarded for an activity that you have never participated in before that enhances your HR Knowledge base. It would count for credit if you have never participated in this before.

Richmond VA: I have accumulated 60 credits and I want to submit them now even though my PHR doesn't expire until December 2010. If I submit them now and they are approved, will my recertification date reset to the date of approval or will it stay December 31?
Virtual Recertification Counselor: You do not have to wait until your certification is about to end to submit your credit hours. You can submit your recertification for review as soon as you have acquired sufficient credits. This will not change the date of when your current recertification cycle ends or your new one begins.
