I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the fact we are almost half way through February! Nevertheless, I am kicking off the month with my first foray into our exhibiting and speaking circuit for the HR Certification Institute this year. What better way to kick off than exhibiting and speaking again at
Training magazine’s 36th Annual conference and expo, “
T:13,” taking place February 18-20, 2013, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort® in none other than the happiest place on earth, Orlando, FL. Having spent the better part of the last two months in the office, I am very excited to get back out, speak with HR professionals about the value of certification and answer any questions about recertification and its process.
My colleague,
Stephanie Runyan, PHR, HR products manager, will speak on Tuesday, February 19, 2013, from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. about the
value of certification (and our two
newest credentials!). If you are planning on attending T:13 and have thought about enhancing your HR career with one of the Institute’s
credentials, this session is not to be missed.
I am also excited to announce the Institute will again offer for 2013 a Certification Scholarship (exam + application fees) at each of the events we are attending! Make sure to come by or spread the word—the Institute will be at booth #302, and I am EAGER to give away a scholarship! Also, keep checking
Twitter for reminders and messages from me @battenkatie. In addition, of course, you can always pick up the newest copy of
Certified wherever we are.
I have a lot of ground to cover in 2013 to match the stellar year we had in 2012—we exhibited at, spoke at and/or sponsored over 60 events! I think I’ve been home enough for my new luggage (thanks to Santa) to gather a little bit of dust, but I’m ready to break in all of it! Being on the road, not only for me but also for my colleagues, is an essential component of the Institute’s effort to engage with certificants, and the connections we make are invaluable. Look out for more blogs from me, Katie Batten, Marketing Events Specialist, road warrior extraordinaire for the HR Certification Institute—or “G5” as my coworker so aptly named me, throughout 2013.
