Dear Certified Colleague:
As we celebrate HRCI's 30th Anniversary this year, there are many people working diligently to ensure the validity of our process and to build the prestige of certification within the profession. Several of these leaders currently serve on our item writing, item review, and examination forms review panels, which are listed in this issue. Others promote certification for the SHRM state councils and chapters. Still others present professional development offerings which also support certification and recertification. And, a wide range of certified professionals - including you — individually encourage our colleagues to pursue certification while serving as their professional development role models.
Over the past several years, the HRCI Board of Directors has moved from an administrative, "hands-on" involvement in the exam development process to a higher focus on its strategic direction. As we move HRCI forward, however, it is also important that we continue to maintain contact with the people who are involved with HRCI certification at the grassroots level. To this end, the Board is creating a Customer Relations Task Force whose mission it will be to identify and to discuss matters of mutual interest and concern which pertain to certification.
I salute your involvement with professional certification and I look forward to our continued progress during this 30th year. I invite you all to participate in the HRCI anniversary celebrations during the SHRM Annual Conference in June. In the meantime, I thank you again for your continued support and dedicated professionalism.
