Update Your HRCI Profile for Communication Preferences

HRCI provides certified professionals with access to their current certification and contact information through the “My Recert File” section of HRCI.org. Even if you are not yet tracking your recertification credits online, it is important that you review your profile and note your communication preferences.

HRCI appreciates the opportunity to communicate with you about your certification via Certified Mail and recertification reminder notices. We also list newly certified individuals in the “Certification” section of HRCI.org. If you do not wish to receive these communications or be part of the listing, you may opt out through your “My Recert File” profile.

HRCI does not make its mail list available to outside organizations, but we do share certification and contact information with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). SHRM makes its mailing address information available to its affiliates (for example, the SHRM Foundation and SHRM chapter and state councils) and through mail list sales to other entities.

The “Privacy and Communication Options” of your online profile allow you to instruct HRCI not to share your information with SHRM. If you choose this “no communication” option, you will need to contact SHRM separately for any address updates you may have. If you allow HRCI to pass on your information but do not want SHRM to share it, you will need to notify SHRM directly.

How to Update Your HRCI Profile
Start by clicking on “My Recert File” under the “Quick Links” heading on the right side of the HRCI homepage. Enter your HRCI ID number and password (see important reminder below!) to launch your personal account. Click on “Update Profile” at the left side of the screen.

The profile gives you the opportunity to update basic information including phone/e-mail, primary and alternate addresses, demographic and professional information, and SHRM membership status and number. The final section covers privacy and communication options. You may check boxes to opt out of three categories of HRCI communication (e-mail, fax, mail), the website listing of newly certified professionals and/or information sharing with SHRM.

Important Reminder:
Every certified professional has been issued an HRCI ID number, along with a password that allows you to access the “My Recert File” section of HRCI.org. This information was mailed to certified professionals in April. If you don’t remember yours, send your full name, home address, organization address, SHRM membership number (if applicable), and work and home phone numbers to HRCIid@hrci.org . Once we have authenticated your information, we will e-mail your login information to you.
