Many thanks to R. Gregory Green, SPHR, GPHR; Roger Herod, SPHR; Jim Jose, Ph.D., SPHR; and Virgil Seibold, PHR, who finish their terms on the HRCI Board of Directors in December. Here’s an overview of their contributions.
R. Gregory Green, SPHR, GPHR immediate past chair, has served on the board for six years in various capacities including Director, Vice Chair and 2006 Board Chair. He has played an important role in strengthening the alignment of the strategic and business partnerships between SHRM, the SHRM Foundation and HRCI. He has served on the Finance Committee and has chaired the HR, Executive and Governance Committees. As chair of the Governance Committee, he has helped create and shape policies, processes and procedures, which will continue to lead the organization into the future. He has also been instrumental in ensuring that the HRCI Bylaws have been kept up to date to reflect various organizational changes that have occurred. Gregory is Senior Vice President and Chief HR Officer of the Northstar Group in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Roger Herod, SPHR has served on the Board as a Director for the past four years. Roger was an instrumental part of the Steering Committee and task force that developed the initial GPHR Body of Knowledge and certification exam. During his tenure on the Board Roger also chaired the global strategy task force contributing his vast international experience to the Institute. Roger works for ORC (Organizational Resources Counselors, Inc.) in Chicago, Illinois.
Jim Jose, Ph.D., SPHR has served on the Board for the past four years. He has served on the Governance Committee and helped to create a Customer Relations Strategy task force for which he has been chair for the past two years. This task force was created to meet with the SHRM Membership Advisory Committee (MAC) and have a forum to discuss certification related topics. Jim also co-presented a session on Certification at this year’s SHRM Annual Conference. Jim owns his own HR consulting firm, Jim Jose Associates, in Tucson, Arizona.
Virgil Seibold, PHR has served on the Board for the past three years. This year Virgil has served as chair of the Marketing Strategy task force, during a time when HRCI is going through a branding and value of certification study. Virgil has also co-presented a session on Certification at the SHRM Annual Conference. Virgil works in Training and Development for Phoenix International, a John Deere Company in Fargo, North Dakota.
