Cheryl Crozier Garcia, Ph.D., PHR is associate professor of Human Resource Management at Hawaii Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii. Crozier Garcia teaches graduate and undergraduate HR courses and currently also serves as MAHRM program chair, responsible for course scheduling, curriculum development, student mentoring and faculty recruiting and selection. She is the faculty sponsor of the SHRM student chapter and coaches the team at the Hawaii HR Games.

Gardiner Hempel, Jr., GPHR, CPA is senior partner for Global Employment Services practice with Deloitte Tax LLP in New York. In this role Hempel leads strategic client relationship and targeting initiatives with Global 1000 and Fortune 100 companies. He also serves on an eight-member Global Management Group that determines the global service line’s strategic direction. Hempel’s many volunteer leadership roles include serving as president of the SHRM Global Forum Board for two years. He currently serves on the SHRM Ethics Hearing Committee.

Cheryl Wyrick, Ph.D., SPHR is professor and chair of the Management and Human Resource Department at California State Polytechnic University Pomona, where she is responsible for the design and presentation of upper-division HR courses. Wyrick is a PIHRA volunteer leader and has served as student chapter faculty advisor and in national roles including the College Relations Committee, where she was involved in the HR Games. Her service also includes HRCI item writing and review, and she was instrumental in developing the California Certification exam.
